BANGKOK’s BEST Mexican Cantina—Charley Brown’s on Soi 11
If you’re looking for mom’s home-made and super traditional Mexican Food in Bangkok (yes Bangkok) then Charley Brown’s is most definitely the best there is. Charley Brown’s is conveniently & centrally located right off Soi 11 in a well tucked away pocket of bars & restaurants just quiet enough to make it chill but rowdy enough to make it NOT boring.
The menu has all the normal traditional mexi bites & meals and EVERYTHING is fantastic. There’s nothing “chain” about this place and I’ve probably eaten there 15 times in 20 days (I’m officially the Mayor on Four Square if that says how good it is) Taco’s, Enchiladas, Flauta’s, Nacho’s, Rice & Beans and super fresh Guacamole (made daily). Recently Voted #1 Margaritas in Bangkok in Dine & Music’s Oct-Nov 2012 edition. I always elect for the new Caves Creek Chili infused Beer which has an ‘actual’ chili in the beer ala the worm in yo tequila and its probably the best beer I’ve ever had. I have tried their margaritas and will attest, they’re MONEY too!
If you’re in dyer need of some good ol’ fashioned Mexican, don’t look around, just head to Soi 11 and stop in at Charley Brown’s and ask for Dave, and tell him Steven Lee sent ya! Enjoy!
